전통을 모던하게 재해석한 한옥호텔 5
학민재
서울 도심 속 북촌한옥마을에 위치한 학민재는 경복궁과 창덕궁 사이에 자리하고 있다. "하늘과 같은 큰 지혜를 배우고 익히는 집"이란 뜻으로, 1936년에 정세권씨에 의해 지어져 우리나라 최초의 근대 한옥으로 탄생했다. 학민재는 한옥의 아름다움과 서울 도심의 현대적인 모습을 동시에 느낄 수 있는 곳으로, 특별한 한국 전통 건축을 경험할 수 있는 최적의 장소 중 하나이다. 대문을 통해 들어오면 남쪽을 향한 바깥 마당과 뒤에 작은 안마당이 있으며, 1936년도에 지어졌을 당시 북촌 가회동 최고의 풍경을 자랑했던 곳 중 하나이다. 남쪽으로는 남산과 서울 시가지를 한눈에 볼 수 있고, 동쪽으로는 가회동과 계동 일대의 옛 기와지붕을 가진 한옥들이 보이며, 서쪽으로는 인왕산의 아름다운 경치를 감상할 수 있다.

락고재
북촌 본관 1980년대 미국 서부 캘리포니아에서 컴퓨터 엔지니어로 근무한 안영환 대표는 1990년에 한국으로 돌아왔다. 이후 외국인을 대상으로 안동과 경주에서 고택 체험을 할 수 있는 여행상품을 판매했다. 8년 정도 운영하고 나니 한옥이 가진 한계가 분명히 드러났다. 온돌 바닥에 누워 자는 것과 방과 떨어져 있는 화장실이 문제였다. 이 두 가지를 해결하는 방향으로 한옥을 개조하기로 했다. 서울에 있는 여러 한옥을 둘러보고 숙고한 끝에 일제강점기 진단학회를 창립한 이병도 선생의 자택을 골랐다. 이렇게 "락고재 서울 본관"은 130년 역사를 자랑하는 한옥을 기반으로 한 한국 전통 문화 공간이 재탄생하게 되었다. 한국 전통 문화와 함께 다양한 프로그램을 즐길 수 있는 락고재는 고급 호텔 수준의 편안한 숙박 시설을 제공한다. 천연 옥이 깔린 온돌방과 천기토로 만든 장작 찜질방은 건강한 휴식을 선사하며, 은은한 달빛과 함께 특별한 추억을 만들어주며, 이곳에서의 하룻밤은 한국의 멋과 향기로 가득 찬 특별한 경험이 될 것이다.

자명서실
아름다운 북촌 8경 중 북촌 7경에 위치한 '자명서실'은 이름에서도 느낄 수 있듯 ‘차를 가까이하며 책을 읽기 좋은 공간’이다. 경복궁과 창덕궁 사이에 자리잡은 북촌 한옥마을은 조선 시대부터 고관대작들이 주로 거주했으며 궁궐과 가깝고 경치가 수려한 곳으로 잘 알려져 있다. 폐쇄적인 구조가 아니라 전통 양식에 따라 남쪽으로 활짝 열려 있어 모든 공간이 햇볕과 바람이 고루 스며든다. 담소방의 커다란 창을 통해 한옥마을의 기와 곡선과 남산 아래의 도시 풍경을 함께 즐길 수 있다. 그동안 프라이빗한 장소로 비밀에 부쳐져 있었던 자명서실이 최근 한옥에 대한 대중들의 관심이 높아짐에 따라 모든 사람과 한옥이 주는 감동을 나누기 위하여 자명서실을 공개하게 되었다고 밝혔다. 담소방에는 이용자들의 편의를 위해 입식 테이블 세트를 갖추었다. 분위기를 살려 줄 블루투스 스피커와 커피 머신, 다도 세트가 갖춰져 한국의 다도문화도 경험해 볼 수 있다.

안길사가
“선비의 풍류와 한국의 역사를 엿보다” 생기 넘치는 낮과 고즈넉한 밤의 풍경을 지닌 종로구 안국동. 이곳에 ‘안길사가’가 있다. 조선 21대 왕 영조의 딸 화길옹주의 집터에 인접한 1929년 지어진 오래된 한옥은 오늘날 대한민국 헌법 재판소와 맞대어 있고, 대대손손 서울대 등 명문과 덕망 있는 자손들을 배출한 명당이다. 자연을 끌어당긴 작은 정원과 하늘을 지붕 삼은 노천 욕조, 벼루를 닮은 다도 테이블까지. 안길사가는 자연을 벗 삼아 풍류를 즐기던 조선 선비 삶의 태도와 닮아 있다. 한옥의 모습을 지키면서도 현대적 편의성을 높인 이곳에서 종로 안국동의 역사를 느끼며 북촌 골목골목 개성 있는 카페와 맛집을 즐겨보는 건 어떨까 마당에는 작은 경회루를 착안한 연못같은 노천탕이 마련되어 있어 따뜻한 물에 몸을 담그며 일상에서 쌓인 피로를 풀 수 있으며, 자연석 통석을 이용하여 먹을 가는 벼루 느낌의 다도 테이블이 준비되어 있다. 따뜻한 차를 마시며 긴장을 풀고, 여유로운 시간을 보낼 수 있다.

월운
익선동과 서순라길 사이, 옛것의 고즈넉함과 모던하고 개성 있는 가게들이 어우러진 이곳에 '월운'이 새로 문을 열었다. '월운'은 차분하고 웅장한 한옥 너머로 달을 감상하며 운치 있는 하루를 보낼 수 있는 곳이다. '월운'은 달의 표면에서 영감을 받아, 한옥을 구성하는 목재를 직접 깎아 나이테를 돋보이게 했다. 내부에는 목재와 함께 삼베, 소나무, 이끼, 돌을 활용하여 한옥 특유의 정제된 편안함을 강조했다. 다이닝룸에는 다인용 식탁이 마련되어 있고, 넉넉하게 구성된 침실 공간은 여럿이 함께 머무르기에도 충분하다. 함께하는 사람들과 모여 빔프로젝터로 좋아하는 영화를 감상하거나 야외 노천탕에서 따뜻하게 몸을 녹여봐도 좋다. 서순라길 주변에는 공방이나 개성 있는 식당과 카페가 많으니 가벼운 산책과 함께 주변을 둘러보는 여유를 가질 수 있다.

노스텔지어 블루재

Hakminjae
Hakminjae, located in the heart of Seoul's Bukchon Hanok Village between Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung palaces, was built by Mr. Jung Se-kwon in 1936, making it the first modern hanok in Korea. Meaning "a house to learn and master great wisdom like the sky," Hakminjae offers a blend of hanok beauty and modernity in downtown Seoul, providing one of the best places to experience special Korean traditional architecture. As you enter through the main gate, you'll find a spacious outer courtyard facing south and a small inner courtyard behind it, boasting one of the best views of the Bukchon's Gahoe-dong landscape from 1936. To the south, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Namsan and downtown Seoul, while to the east, you'll see hanoks with old tiled roofs in Gahoe-dong and Gyedong areas, and to the west, you can admire the beautiful scenery of Inwangsan Mountain.

Rakgojae
Rakgojae, the main branch in Bukchon, emerged from the idea of resolving the limitations of hanoks, such as sleeping on the ondol floor and the separation of rooms and bathrooms. After exploring various hanoks in Seoul, Mr. Ahn Yeong-hwan, who worked as a computer engineer in California in the 1980s and returned to Korea in 1990, chose the residence of Mr. Lee Byung-do, who founded the Japanese Colonial Era Diagnostic Society, to renovate it into "Rakgojae Seoul Main Branch". Rakgojae provides a comfortable accommodation facility with high-quality hotel-level amenities, including natural stone ondol floors and a wooden sauna made of cheonggi soil, offering a healthy rest experience. Jamyeongseosil
Jamyeongseosil, located in one of the eight scenic beauties of Bukchon, known as one of the seven beauties of Bukchon, is a space ideal for enjoying tea and reading books, as the name suggests. Situated between Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung palaces, Bukchon Hanok Village has been known for its beautiful scenery and close proximity to the palaces since the Joseon Dynasty. Unlike closed-off structures, Jamyeongseosil is wide open to the south, allowing sunlight and wind to penetrate every space. Through the large window of the Damsobang, you can enjoy the curved roofs of hanok village and the cityscape under Namsan.
