베컴이 서울에서 삼겹살을 먹었다니
지난 1월 명동 아디다스 브랜드 플래그십 서울에서 열린 '프레데터 출시 30주년 기념전시'에 참석을 위해 한국을 찾은 베컴. 오후 8시 30분 함께 온 동료 여섯명과 함께 서울 중구에 위치한 '금돼지식당'을 찾았다. 돼지고기구이 전문 금돼지식당은 미쉐린가이드 빕 구르망Bib Gourmand에 선정되기도 한 젊고 파격적인 고깃집으로, 뉴욕에 있는 베컴의 한식당 단골집에서 금돼지식당 방문을 추천했다고.
이날 목격담은 SNS를 통해 확산됐다. 삼겹살, 항정살, 목살 등 기본 부위부터 돼지껍데기까지 구워먹었다는 이야기는 미식가들과 대중들 사이에서 밤새 화제였다. 김치찌개와 소맥 마무리까지, 외국인을 위해 변형하지 않은 완벽한 한국식 식사를 즐긴 후 '맛있다'고 감탄했다. 식사 소요시간은 총 두시간. 직원들은 물론 그를 알아본 팬들에게도 친절하게 화답했다. 마침 같은 시간 방문한 개그맨 김영철씨 일행과 사진을 찍어주는 팬서비스도 흔쾌히 오케이. 안그래도 사랑받는 삼겹살이 전세계에 한번 더 알려지는 계기가 됐다.
